Who needs to take 62-Hour Site Safety Supervisor Training?

Under the local law of 196 of 2017 (NYC department of buildings), Supervisors at job sites with a site safety plan are required to receive 62 hours of site safety training. This training is required for Site Safety Managers, Site Safety Coordinators, Construction Superintendents, Concrete Safety Managers and competent persons selected by Construction Superintendents.

Duties of a Site Safety Supervisor

Construction supervisors are responsible for the management and safety of construction projects. They are required to create a safe and efficient workplace through planning, organizing, and controlling projects. Site supervisors monitor the progress of projects and also make sure that safety requirements are followed. They oversee construction workers and subcontractors, instruct them in site safety procedures, and assess worker performance.


How to obtain your SST Card?

In order to obtain your SST card, you first need to take the 62-Hour training package.

The Difference Between 62-Hour Supervisor and 32-Hour Supervisor Training

Students who have already taken 40-Hour SST only require to take 22-Hours of required training. Whereas students who have taken the OSHA 30 need to take 32-Hour Supervisor training to get their Supervisor SST Certification/Card. As for all the other students, they need to take the full 62-Hour package to meet the requirements for the Site Safety Supervisor Training.
